According to Corriere dello Sport, Aston Villa are ready to meet Chelsea’s £37.5m asking price for Romelu Lukaku.

Villa are in the market for another centre-forward this summer as they look to provide support for Ollie Watkins ahead of a congested fixture list.

Napoli are also keen to sign Lukaku, though, they are struggling to reach an agreement with the West Londoners.

It’s thought Villa are providing real competition but they’ll have to convince the Belgium international, who has his heart set on reuniting with Antonio Conte in Naples.

The Italian club have already agreed personal terms with Lukaku, who has been labeled ‘world class’, per The Independent.

Lukaku’s second spell at Chelsea was somewhat of a disaster and he’s spent the last two seasons on loan at Inter Milan and AS Roma.

Last term, the towering striker netted 21 times across 47 outings for I Giallorossi, which is certainly a commendable tally.

The previous year at Inter Lukaku netted 14 times, so evidently, he’s still a prolific striker at the elite level despite failing to succeed at Chelsea.
