Interfor Announces Indefinite Curtailment of Timber Production Facilities in Georgia and South Carolina

BURNABY, British Columbia, August 19, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — INTERFOR COMPANY (“Interfor” or the “Company”) (TSX: IFP) today announced that it will indefinitely curtail operations at its sawmills in Meldrim, Georgia and Summerville, South Carolina. These restrictions are in response to continued weak lumber market conditions.

Log deliveries will be halted immediately and operations will be phased out in an orderly fashion, with completion expected by the end of the third quarter of 2024. Both mills produce kiln-dried Southern Yellow Pine dimensional lumber and have a combined annual capacity of 330 million board feet.
