King Charles visits families affected by tragedy at dance class

King Charles showed his support for the victims of the attack during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class last month. On Tuesday, the monarch visited Southport to meet families and pay tribute to those affected by the tragedy. He arrived at the Town Hall, where he waved to onlookers and saw tributes to the victims, including flowers, balloons and stuffed animals. Once inside the Town Hall, Charles met with families of victims and several survivors. People adds that the King will also meet the families of the deceased on Wednesday, August 21.

Three girls, Bebe King, 6; Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7; and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9, were killed in the mass stabbing that took place on July 29. Several children and two adults were also injured in the attack. An 18-year-old man, who was 17 at the time, has been arrested and charged with the murders of the three girls.

Taylor Swift herself, who returned to London this weekend for her Eras Tour, also invited survivors of the attack and their families backstage at her Wembley Stadium shows, according to Variety. While Swift didn’t publicly announce the meetings, Sami Foster, mother of survivors Hope and Autumn, posted a TikTok with images documenting their meet-and-greet. Foster began the post’s caption with a lyric from Swift’s song “Cardigan.”

“You drew stars around my scars,” she wrote alongside the video montage set to her song “Enchanted.” “The biggest thank you to @Taylor Swift & her mom for making the most magical night possible for us all 🫶🏻 thank you for bringing Hope & Autumn pure happiness last night & always 💗💗 #taylorswift #taylornation #erastour #swifties#andreaswift.”

While it is unclear how many families Swift spoke to, the publication notes that Swift invited and spoke to others affected by the event in addition to the Fosters. She also reportedly reached out to the families of the three murdered girls.
