Nuveen New York AMT-Free Quality Municipal Income Fund Reports Results Ahead of Controversial 2024 Annual Shareholder Meeting

Nuveen today announced that, based on the voting results of the 2024 annual shareholders meeting of Nuveen New York AMT-Free Quality Municipal Income Fund (NYSE: NRK), shareholders, excluding the shares voted by the activist, overwhelmingly voted in favor of Board nominees Joanne T. Medero, Loren M. Starr and Matthew Thornton III and against the activist’s proposal to remove Nuveen as the fund’s investment advisor.

The certified results of the annual meeting confirm that the incumbent Board nominees will remain in place and that Nuveen will continue as an investment advisor to NRK. By voting, shareholders, excluding shares voted by the activist, rejected each nominee submitted by the activist investor, as well as the proposal to terminate the investment advisory agreement between Nuveen and NRK.
