The 48-year-old player, who wished to remain anonymous, bought the ticket at the Royal Liquor Food Market at 320 West Prospect St. in Jackson.

“I buy scratch-off tickets randomly every few months,” the player said in a statement. “I normally buy $1 or $2 scratch-off tickets, but while I was at the store I decided to take a chance on the World Class Millions game. I scratched it off when I got home and when I saw that I had won $4 million, I showed it to my mom and said, ‘Am I reading this right?!”

“Before my dad passed away, he always bought me scratch cards. I can’t help but think this was a gift from him!”

The woman chose to receive her prize as a lump sum of approximately $2.7 million. She plans to donate a portion of her winnings and save the rest.
