Father held for raping class X girl for 5 years in Chennai; her two friends also held | Chennai News

CHENNAI: A Class X student from Kolathur was sexually abused by her father for almost five years now. The police have arrested the man, along with two others who were friends with the girl on social media and raped her.
On August 19, the girl’s mother filed a missing person complaint. Kolathur Police traced the girl’s mobile number and found her in Chengalpet. They rescued her from a house there and brought her back to Kolathur.
During interrogation, she revealed that her father had been raping her since 2019 while her mother was at work. She said he threatened her not to tell her mother about the abuse.
The girl also revealed that she was friends with two men – Ruben, 24, from PV Kalathur at Chengalpet, and Arvind Kumar, 27, of Velachery – on social media, who also raped her. She eloped with Ruben to Chengalpet.
Kolathur police registered a case and arrested the girl’s father Ruben and Arvind Kumar on charges of rape.
The suspects were brought before a police court in the city and remanded in custody.
The victim has been sent to a government shelter for care and protection. Police are investigating further.
