SEC awards $98 million total to two whistleblowers

Washington, DC–(Newsfile Corp. – August 23, 2024) – The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that more than $98 million has been awarded to two whistleblowers whose information and assistance led to an enforcement action with the SEC and an action brought by another agency.

The first whistleblower’s tip led to the opening of the investigation and subsequently provided significant additional information and ongoing assistance. As a result, this whistleblower will receive an $82 million reward. The second whistleblower, whose information was provided later, contributed significantly to one aspect of the operations and will receive a $16 million reward.
