On August 24 at approximately 11:57 p.m., police responded to the sporting goods store on Troy-Schenectady Road after receiving reports of an altercation involving multiple people beating each other with baseball bats. Arriving officers found two victims who claimed they had been attacked by a group of five individuals.

Preliminary investigation determined that after seeing the victims purchase limited edition Nike Air Jordan sneakers, the suspects allegedly attacked the customers before fleeing with the stolen shoes. The two victims were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
