Chev Clarke aims to win over the crowd for Diego Pacheco-Maciej Sulecki

Cruiserweight contender Chev Clarke believes Diego Pacheco’s fans will become his fans too as he prepares for his fight against Efetobor Apochi on Saturday night (August 31) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Los Angeles.

Clarke, 9-0 (7 KOs), fights his first pro fight in America against Apochi, who is 12-2 (12 KOs). The hard-hitting Englishman is no longer focused on winning the British title, but will first take on the Nigerian.

“C4” wants to make sure he gets rid of Apochi quickly so he can get back to watching the main event and win over Pacheco’s fans in the process.

“Diego Pacheco is a bad guy,” Clarke said. “When I watch him fight, he’s cold. It’s great to share the card with him. I appreciate him a lot, he’s special. The way he puts together his combinations is class, he’s a good operator. I’m looking forward to seeing him apply his craft in real life.

“He has a bright future, no doubt about it. He’s a great fighter, I can definitely see him being at the top of the 168lbs division in time.

“If you like Diego Pacheco, you’ll like me. He’s explosive, he moves around the ring well and lines up his shots well, we’re similar fighters. Diego’s fans will love me.

“We’re in a different weight class and our status is different, but as entertainers we’re similar. We’ve got you hooked.”

Also on the bill is super featherweight KO artist Eduardo “Sugar” Nunez (27-1, 27 KO’s) facing former world title challenger Miguel Marriaga (31-7, 26 KO’s) in the co-main event, while an all-Mexican clash sees super bantamweight challenger Arturo Cardenas (14-0-1, 8 KO’s) take on Jesus Arechiga (21-1, 15 KO’s). The DAZN card begins with an interim world title clash as Adelaida Ruiz (16-0-1, 8 KO’s) defends her WBC super flyweight belt against Ginny Fuchs (3-0, 1 KO’s).

Recent Matchroom signing Fabian “Zurdo” Rojo (9-0 7 KO’s) takes on Alejandro Frias (15-10-2 7 KO’s) over six rounds at welterweight, Criztec Bazaldua (5-0 1 KO’s) takes on Kyle Erwin (7-2 3 KO’s) over six rounds at super lightweight, and Alex Gueche (5-0 5 KO’s) begins the evening against David Vargas (8-4-2 5 KO’s) over six rounds at bantamweight.
