Gunners willing to pay Nico Williams’ release clause

The end of the transfer window is almost in sight, but Arsenal and other clubs still have time to pull off one or two deals if all parties are willing.

The Gunners have been relatively quiet this summer, but you could argue that a little tweak here and there to Mikel Arteta’s squad was needed.

According to Football Transfers, the North Londoners are still prepared to pay the transfer fee for one of Spain’s European Championship heroes, Nico Williams.

However, the Athletic Club player would like to stay at the Spanish top club for another season. And even if he decides to leave, Barcelona is a more likely destination.

Of course, you have to ask yourself the question, if you have roughly €58 million to spend and you’re not spending it on Nico Williams, are there any other attackers available right now who would fit the role Arteta has in mind for the Basque club?
