McDonald’s is finally bringing back this menu item after fans begged for it

While we’re still waiting with bated breath for rumors of the Snack Wrap’s return to McDonald’s, the fast food joint with the golden arches has already been casually paving the way for another comeback: the beloved Chicken Big Mac.

The decadent sandwich previously won fans in the UK and Australia, but was then unexpectedly pulled from menus due to supply issues. But now, according to food blogger Snackolator, the Chicken Big Mac is coming to U.S. stores sometime in 2024, following a trial in Miami in 2022.

“McDonald’s is *finally* bringing the Chicken Big Mac to the US this year,” he wrote on Instagram, alongside a promotional photo of the sandwich. The Chicken Big Mac is exactly what it seems: a Big Mac with the beef patties replaced with two tempura chicken patties, Snackolator reports.

The company’s CEO Chris Kempczinski previewed the device’s return in a video earlier this year, but didn’t mention an exact launch date.

“The chicken (is) going to put (the traditional Big Mac) on fire,” Kempczinski said in his own Instagram taste test. “(It’s) the same texture, so you’ll recognize it. We still have three buns, we still have all the lettuce and cheese and of course the McDonald’s Big Mac sauce, but we now have two chicken burgers.”

Describing the sandwich, he called it “really good” and raved about the crispy chicken patties. “One of the things I did like about this Chicken Big Mac is the crispiness of the chicken. The Big Mac sauce really works with it,” he said, before adding that you shouldn’t just have to pick one. “Go get both. You get a little bit more crispiness with (the Chicken Big Mac), but you can’t beat the beef that you get with our original version.”

Customers were certainly excited about the return. “Chicken Big Mac! Come on,” one user commented on social media. “Omg I need this now,” another added.

“This must be a good one!” said a third person.
