Millions of TV Zuschauers know Nachrichtensprecher Jan Hofer (74). The Freitagbend-präsentierte is zum letzten Mal “RTL Direkt”. Mitten in der Show kam Hofer’s Kollegin Pinar Atalay (46.) with a Blumenstrauß in the TV-Studio and said: “You are one of the ‘Mister News’.”

Hofers Antwort: “I can never put an end to the war if the war stops. I am very happy with the people living in their home.” Seinen Abschied commented with the words: “My heart is good. I am still not in the world. I became sure of some other Mal noch mal auftauchen – aber nicht more bei ‘RTL Direkt’.”

Hofer prägte über Jahrzehnte de TV-Nachrichten in Deutschland – voor allem in seinem früheren, langjährigen Job als Nachrichtensprecher der „Tagesschau“ (ARD). For four years, there is a last “Tagesschau”-Sendung. Damals thought most that “Mister News” would appear in the TV Ruhestand. But weit felt.
