Armed robbery sparks outrage

ATTACK:

An armed robbery took place near the deputy commissioner’s house. According to sources, two robbers on a motorcycle stole Rs650,000 from a salesman of a pharmaceutical company and fled the scene. Despite CCTV footage of the robbers going viral, the police have failed to arrest the accused.

An emergency meeting of the Chemists and Druggists Association of Attock was held, demanding the arrest of the robbers within 24 hours. This incident took place in a high-security zone, including the Deputy Commissioner’s House, the houses of several senior officials, police lines, the district jail and other important government offices.

The robbery in such a safe area has caused widespread fear and panic, especially among the business community. The association criticized the district administration and the police for their failure to prevent the crime and demanded immediate action.

Earlier, a similar armed robbery took place at Fatima Pharmacy on Three Mela Road in Attock, raising concerns among local traders.

The rise in street crime has made doing business in Attock increasingly difficult, prompting the government to conduct special operations to protect traders.

In response, the Central Traders Association, chaired by President Rashid Rehman Khan, called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the IGP to address the deteriorating law and order situation in Attock.
