Madhya Pradesh: Ujjain man rapes woman after getting her drunk; video of attack emerges | Latest News India

A man allegedly raped a scrap dealer by making her drink alcohol in Agar Naka area of ​​Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, news agency PTI reported on Thursday, citing police.

According to Kotwali City Police Commissioner (CSP) Om Prakash Mishra, the incident came to light after a video of the rape, recorded by unknown persons, went viral on social media.

“The accused Lokesh promised to marry her, made her drink alcohol and then raped her on Wednesday. Some passersby recorded videos of the incident instead of stopping the crime. Lokesh later fled from the spot. After the woman filed a complaint when the effect of alcohol wore off, Lokesh was arrested,” the official told PTI.

A case of rape and murder has been registered after the body of a 19-year-old woman, who went missing a few days earlier, was found with multiple injuries in Karnataka’s Gunateerthawadi village, police said on Thursday, PTI reported.

According to police, three people have been arrested in connection with the incident, which reportedly took place on August 29. The woman was reportedly killed after being hit on the head with a rock, and her body was later dumped in the bushes. Police suspect she was sexually assaulted before her death.

In another incident, a mentally ill woman was raped by three of her relatives in Chhattisgarh’s Sakti district on Monday, police said on Wednesday. The attack took place in a village under the jurisdiction of Dabhra police station. According to police, the accused, who were reportedly drunk, took the woman, who is in her early 20s, to an abandoned house and raped her. On receiving information about the incident, the police immediately sent a team to the village, leading to the arrest of all three accused.

Villagers claim that the suspects are relatives of the woman and that two of them were involved in the illegal sale of local liquor in the village.
