Exclusive: Five transfer candidates for Arsenal star, including European giants willing to offer three-year deal

As many as five clubs have shown interest in Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey as his contract nears its expiry. CaughtOffside understands.

The Ghanaian international is currently focused solely on the Gunners and the upcoming season at the Emirates Stadium, but he is said to be on the radar of some big names in Europe, including his former club Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona are also considering Partey, while the most concrete interest is reportedly coming from Juventus, who would be willing to offer the 31-year-old a three-year contract, sources close to the situation have said. CaughtOffside.

Clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also been interested in Partey for a long time, with Al Hilal and Al Ahli still considering him. CaughtOffside understands.

Transfer Partey: Experienced Arsenal midfielder definitely leaving

While Partey remains a key player for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side, it is difficult to imagine him getting a new contract for a number of reasons.

While his profile will be difficult to replace, Arsenal have other options in midfield and are unlikely to be keen to continue paying the injury-prone Partey for a few more years.

The former Atletico man has almost always been a top player for Arsenal when he has been available, but his injury history is not the best, so it would probably be unwise for the club to rely on him for too long when they could probably sign someone younger.

Mikel Merino joined AFC in the summer and should give Arteta another useful option in midfield, while Declan Rice could also play a more defensive role than he has played to date. He has adapted his game and now plays more like a No.8, with Partey largely the first choice in that No.6 position in defence.
