40 Jahre Charta-Riesling: Der VDP.Rheingau looks “zurück in die Zukunft”

Revolution in Rheingau! For 40 years of great pleasure from Weinvisionäre the Rheingauer Charta-Vereinigung – a Schutzgemeinschaft zur Rettung de classic Rheingauer Rieslings. Erwein Graf Matuschka-Greiffenclau from Weingut Schloss Vollrads, Dr. Hans Ambrosi from Staatsweingut Kloster Eberbach, Bernhard and Heinrich Breuer from Weingut Georg Breuer were Prof. Dr. Helmut Becker from the Geisenheimer Institut für Rebenzüchtung & Rebenveredlung were working on one of the best solutions and Rheingauer Rieslings die propagieren, der verpflichten Qualitätsstandards unterlag. You can set the “classified recovery” with your Ansatz Maßstäbe. Ihre Initiative war der Grundstein für das VDP.ERSTE und VDP.GROSSE GEWÄCHS. Neither heute halten 13 VDP.Weingüter from the Rheingau de Charta-Fahne hoch and erzeugen reifefähige, character-strong Rieslinge, the Charta-Symbol – the romanischen Doppelbogen – dare to dare. The concept of Damals has been raised and you are welcome again. The 40th anniversary and the new Charter years were celebrated at the market on September 1 and the VDP.Rheingau had a moment of “zurück in die Zukunft”.

Rheingauer Spitzenriesling weltweit gefragt

“German wine growing began 40 years ago on a Scheideweg. ‘Sweet and cheap’ – this label has been around for German wine internationally for many years”, says Wilhelm Weil, broadcaster of the VDP.Rheingau. “In the years that have gone by, a few things have emerged that have helped us and brought about the renaissance of German Spitzenweins. It is one of the most recent experiences that the German image from New York after Tokyo has brought. It is possible to thank the Grundidee of the Charta-Vereinigung. Trockene Rieslinge from the best Rheingauer layers is today again on the whole world gefragt.”

Geschichte en Merkmale des Charta-Rieslings

After the Gründung, the Mitglieder der Vereinigung 1984 established the first Charta-Rieslinge vor. The concept function and connection will only take 50 minutes. The common soul: Weg vom süßen Massenwein, zurück zum “typical Rheingauer Riesling”, from the beginning of the 20. Years from the noblest Tablen of the Erde serves wurde and Weltruhm genoss.

Charta-Wein is not simple, but strict quality criteria: A balanced, classic Rheingau-Riesling, which in itself has a high Reifepotential quality. All Charta-Weine come from the best layers of the Rhineaus and sparrows from 100 Prozent aus fullreifen Rieslingtrauben were keltert. Zur Qualitätssicherung, de Weine in a Blindverkostung bewertet en nur zugelassen, when the Charta-Typizität is recognised. The “little Geschwister” of the Lagenweine takes place on September 1. It will be sold for a number of years.

A Charta-Riesling recognizes man and three visuals Merkmalen:

– Spezielle Charta-Kapseln tragen das unverkennbare Zeichen der Vereinigung: the characteristic, novelistic Doppelbögen. If you imagine the stylistic front of the “Grauen Hauses” in Rheingau, this is the gilded Steinhaus Deutschlands.
– At dinner the Weine were served as Charta-Riesling – the Bezeichnung erolgt mittlerweile ohne Lagenname.
– Charta-Weine were marketed in classic, brown Rheingauer Schlegelflaschen.

In the history of the Charta-Rieslinge there is no mention of a typical interpretation of the wine and of the uniheitliche Ausstattung but nor a further remarkable verrortlich: the optimal Verbindung von Speise and Wein. If there is self-defense, the war is a new war. With perfection on the Charta-Rieslinge the people who visit the Charta-Winzer ladies can be the world and great gourmets with “new old” Weintyp “made in Rheingau” for.

Basis for the VDP.Classification pyramid

The Charta-Vereinigung started in 1988 with the initialization of the quality offensive during the Weinbergslagen classification. The Herausstellen besonderer Weinberge hat in many bedeutenden Weinbauregenen Tradition – so auch in Rheingau. Die älteste, bekannte Weinbergs-Bonitätskarte der Regio, dates from the year 1867 (“Der nassauische Weinbau | Rheingau”). The focus on the “Grand Crus of German Boden” comes from the 1930s file. Danach riet die regionalen Klassifikationen zunehmend in Vergessenheit. The 1971er Weingesetz reduzierte zudem die Anzahl von Lagen (Mindestgröße 5 Hektar) – dadurch versschwanden historically bedeutsame Einzellagen zunächst buchstäblich of the Maps. It is a matter of the Rhinegauer-Vereinigungskaart with a qualitatively oriented and parzellenschaarfe Abgrenzung of regional layers and damn the Grundstein for the ERSTEN GEWÄCHSE long. In 1992, the Charta-Winzer was presented in the ERSTEN GEWÄCHSE from the defined Spitzenlagen. This initiative was launched in 2012 in the VDP.Klassifikations-Pyramide. „Diese Pyramide stellt wieder die Herkunft, das Terroir, in den Mittelpunkt der Qualitätsphilosophie unserer Weingüter“, so Wilhelm Weil, from 1990 in the Charta-Vereinigung and from 1999, as the Charta and der VDP.Rheingau mergierten, as the Vorsitzender Verantwortung trägt .

Well spotted

“I see great potential for the Rheingauer Charta-Weine. It is a time-consuming activity and a young international publication is a fact. When the importer stopped importing, the menu was a wonderful sandwich for dry Riesling and the meat was a good price”, said Mark Barth, CEO of the VDP.Rheingau. “The other wines are a waste of money for me, they were better here than the intestines: for all Rieslinge in excellent quality of herausragende rekünften. Back to the roots. Back to the roots, was a well-known famous made-hat. Back to the revolutionary thanks of the Charta-Vereinigung!”

Erfreulich: Das Weingut Kloster Eberbach will take a break in September with a graph wine presentation after a year. Damit erzeugen heute with fell Leidenschaft die folgenden 13 VDP.Weingüter Charta-Weine: Weingut Allendorf, Wein- und Sektgut Barth, Weingut Diefenhardt, Weingut August Eser, Weingut Freimuth, Weingut Flick, Weingut Johannishof, Weingut Jakob Jung, Weingut Kloster Eberbach, Weingut Baron Knyphausen, Weingut Spreitzer, Weingüter Wegeler and Weingut Robert Weil.
