Emily is also a proven writer and has a successful podcast where she partners with brands to promote women and combat misogyny.

The final installment of her father’s show The Grand Tour aired on September 13, 2024, at the same time Emily was pregnant with her second child.

Emily’s writing

Emily has written for publications including The Sunday Times, Teen Tatler and our own newspaper, The Sun.

In addition to her newspaper work, she has also written two books, entitled ‘Can I Speak to Someone in Charge?’ and ‘Dear Pretty Normal Me’.

Emily said this about writing: “Being asked to write a book was probably the best thing that ever happened to me. Up until that point, I was really worried about my mom being the only one reading my blog.

“I hope this book will appeal to a wide range of women and, in fact, men. I hope it will make people laugh, but more importantly, I hope it will open people’s eyes to the fact that we still have a lot to do if we want our daughters to grow up in a good and kind world.”

Podcasting with Alex Light

Emily co-hosts the podcast “Should I Delete That?”, which airs every Monday night.

The podcast dives into the details of the biggest online debates, from media coverage of Blake Lively to broader examples of misogyny.

Emily and Alex have also had a number of high profile guests on their show, including Bake Off legend Nadiya Hussain and Black Woman Rising founder Leanne Pero.

Emily’s Baby Joy

Emily announced in July 2024 that she was expecting her second child with her husband Andrew Alex.

She made the announcement in an adorable video she posted to her Instagram account.

Her daughter Arlo, born in February 2023, seemed excited to become the older sister to her new sibling.
