VINCI wins two new road connections contracts in Australia

VINCI wins two new road connections contracts in Australia

  • To build two strategic transport infrastructure assets in Sydney and Melbourne
  • Minimizing the impact on the environment
  • For a total amount of more than €200 million

Seymour Whyte, the Australian subsidiary of VINCI Construction, has secured two contracts with a total value of approximately AUD 340 million (approximately €209 million):

  • In Sydney, Seymour Whyte will be involved in the improvement of a 3.8km stretch of Mamre Road, west of the city, near the future international airport, for Transport for New South Wales. The project involves converting the dual carriageway without segregation to a dual carriageway with a large median strip, allowing for the addition of two additional lanes in the future and the construction of a noise barrier. Environmental initiatives include the use of reclaimed asphalt to cover approximately 40% of the requirements and the reuse of other materials excavated from the site. The work is due to be completed in 2028.
  • in Melbourne, Seymour Whyte will upgrade Clyde Road for Major Road Projects Victoria. It will build one extra lane in each direction, widen the Clyde Road bridge and upgrade existing intersections. The project, expected to be completed in 2027, will include a greenhouse gas emissions assessment. Notably, the facilities and equipment will use solar or hybrid energy. The project will also follow a Recycled First approach.

Seymour Whyte has been actively involved in several major road projects in Australia, including the civil engineering and construction of the access roads to the future Western Sydney International Airport, the upgrading of a section of Mulgoa Road in Sydney and the extension of the M1 Pacific Motorway between Sydney and Brisbane.
