Avolta’s HMSHost Expands Presence at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Under Newly Awarded 10-Year Contract | 23.09.24

BETHESDA, Maryland (September 23, 2024) – Global restaurateur HMSHost, part of Avolta AG (SIX: AVOL) and a global leader in creating dining experiences for travel destinations, today announced plans to bring a duo of exciting food and beverage experiences to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) under a recently awarded 10-year contract. The two new eateries will open in summer 2025 in the airport’s new Eighth Concourse in Terminal 4, growing HMSHost’s footprint at PHX to nearly two dozen restaurants and bars.

Travelers will soon have the chance to enjoy casual dining with the big, bold energy and flavors of celebrity chef Guy Fieri, plus an elevated bar experience featuring locally produced spirits from Arizona’s largest independent brewery and distillery, SanTan Brewing Company.

“HMSHost is excited to be part of the roadmap for the future that has been laid out at Phoenix Sky Harbor,” said Steve Johnson, President and CEO, North America, Avolta. “Every thoughtful renovation and addition to the concourses has been designed with travelers at its core, just as our food and beverage options are curated to enhance and nourish their journey. We look forward to our continued partnership with Phoenix Sky Harbor and infusing the dining experience there with a fun, flavorful and distinctly local feel.”

New dining options opening soon in Terminal 4’s Eighth Concourse include:

  • Guy Fieri’s Phoenix Kitchen and Bar – Travelers to PHX will want to make Guy Fieri’s Phoenix Kitchen & Bar a part of their itinerary. The Flavortown experience begins with “Real Deal” Guy’s signature, homemade recipes like award-winning burgers and championship BBQ and extends to a full bar featuring handcrafted cocktails from “Off da Hook,” local craft beers and Guy’s own Santo Tequila, a collaboration between Guy and Sammy Hagar. The PHX menu will highlight fan favorites from the Downtown Phoenix restaurant, including Big Bite Burgers, wings, Trash Can Nachos, the Mötley Qüe Pulled Pork sandwich (as seen on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”), pizza, breakfast and more, along with convenient Grab & Go options. Popular drinks range from Guy’s Famous Caliente Margarita, made with fresh jalapeños and a mojo rim, to the Fiery Fieri, a tequila-based drink with Guy’s famous brown sugar-bourbon BBQ sauce.
  • SanTan Spirit House – A premium brand unique to Arizona, SanTan Spirits is the distillery arm of the beloved SanTan Brewing, the state’s largest independently owned brewery and distillery. SanTan Spirit House offers travelers innovative, modern cocktails created by award-winning mixologist Natasha Hill, showcasing destination products only available at Spirit House locations. Highlights of the full bar include SanTan’s signature spirits, tastings, classic and creative cocktails, beer and wine, along with a delicious menu of Roman-style flatbreads and other sharing bites.

“At Phoenix Sky Harbor, we continue to look for ways to enhance the passenger experience,” said Chief Revenue Officer Roxann Favors. “Our continued partnership with HMSHost will provide additional options for our travelers. We are excited about HMSHost’s new concepts that will not only give travelers a taste of our award-winning local cuisine, but also the chance to experience Chef Guy Fieri’s signature creations.”

HMSHost will operate the new dining venues as a joint venture with TMG Services, LLC and Kind Hospitality, Inc.

HMSHost currently operates more than 20 restaurants, bars and Grab & Go eateries at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, including traveler favorites Blanco Tacos + Tequila, SanTan Brewing Company, La Grande Orange and Shake Shack. In 2024, HMSHost unveiled its Snap brand at PHX, an AI-powered self-checkout system that was named a finalist for the “Airport ‘Food To Go’ Offer of the Year” at The Moodie Davitt Report’s Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) + Hospitality Awards.
