First Sitzung of the new Thuringian Landtags started

The first seat of the Thuringian Landtags has started with tension. There is a strong AfD and four other factions at the Besetzung der Landtagsspitze.

The Abgeordneten of the Thuringian Landtags have mixed together in the first Sitzung in Erfurt four weeks after the Wahl. A new Landtagspräsident has been gewählt. Erwartet would be a turbulent Sitzung. The AfD faction, the first in a German Landparlament, the strongest faction, can direct their advance right to the Landtagsspitze. CDU, BSW, Linke and SPD have taken into account that they want to keep the AfD Abgeordneten in the second highest Thuringian state office. The AfD with its legal aid Björn Höcke and the Spitze would have the Landesverfassungsschutz as a right-wing extremist eingestuft and beobachtet.

The AfD has put forward its deputy Wiebke Muhsal as a candidate for the presidency. Muhsal was sentenced to a fine several years ago due to her reluctance to retaliate. The personal proposal was therefore used by the deputy other factions as a provocation. The CDU has nominated Thadäus König as a candidate for the posts of Landtag president in the deputy. The CDU and the Wagenknecht party are in the process of developing the Landtags of their seats, so that all factions can make a personal start. The AfD has taken over its power in Vorfeld.
