Bobcats on their way to regional finals

The Franklin Park Bobcats won their Class L baseball regional opener at home, beating visiting Carlyle 15-0 in three innings. Zane Applegate doubled 3-3 with 3 RBI. Emit Gibson also had 3 hits and drove in 3. Eli Purdy had 2 hits and 2 RBI with RBI also from Bentley Bryan, Jax Schaubert and Kai Graham. Applegate worked all 3 innings and needed only 31 pitches, 26 of which were strikes. Salem will play Wesclin in the regional championship in Salem.

In Class M, Nashville defeated Woodlawn 13-0 and All Saints beat Breese 3-2. The championship is scheduled for Monday.
