Robbery of Rs 1.5 crore leads to state-wide manhunt in GujaratSabarkantha, Oct 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) A robbery near Prantij in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district has triggered a state-wide police hunt after two robbers fled with Rs 1.5 crore.

The theft took place near Dalani Muvadi village after a car accident on Monday evening, prompting local and district police to launch a manhunt across the state. The investigation is still ongoing.

According to reports, the incident took place when a car overturned in an accident near the village. After the crash, the driver informed the police that two bags containing Rs 1.5 crore had been stolen. The robbers, who fled on a motorcycle, made off with the money.

The police launched a search operation throughout the neighborhood to arrest the robbers. Along with Prantij police, officers from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Special Operations Group (SOG) arrived on the spot and set up check posts across the district.

Authorities are investigating several angles, including the identities of the individuals carrying such a large sum of money, their intended destination and whether the robbers had been following them before the accident. The police are trying to gather more information and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Meanwhile, on September 28, thieves stole Rs 40 lakh from a contractor’s car near Karnavati Club, opposite Shelby Hospital, in a daring daylight robbery. The robbers, on a motorcycle, tricked the contractor into stopping by falsely claiming he had a flat tire. When the contractor stepped outside, a thief grabbed the bag of cash and fled. The contractor had collected the money earlier that day from a company in Angadia.

The police have started an investigation, viewed camera images and suspect that the contractor was being followed.

Senior police officials, including DCP level officers, are leading the investigation into the Rs 40 lakh heist. They confirmed that the thieves used a diversionary tactic. The police are actively following the suspects and viewing camera images from the area to identify the perpetrators.
