San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall will have to wait at least another week before returning to the football field.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said during his press conference on Monday that Pearsall will not return from the non-football injury list this week as he continues his recovery from a shot to the chest in August. .

San Francisco is gearing up for an NFC West matchup against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday night footballso the fact that it’s not a normal practice week likely influenced the team’s decision to keep the 24-year-old on the NFI roster.

#49ers According to Kyle Shanahan, WR Ricky Pearsall will continue his rehabilitation this week. They won’t open his practice window this short week, as the team won’t have any real practices this week.

When Pearsall returns to practice, the 49ers will have a three-week period to activate him or he will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Pearsall was the No. 31 pick in the 2024 NFL draft out of Florida, where he recorded 65 catches for 965 yards and four touchdowns as a senior.

The 49ers will look to bounce back from a 24-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday that dropped them to 2-3 when they return to action on Thursday against the Seahawks (3-2).
