CenterPoint Energy to Increase Resilience and Monitor System Assets During Extreme Weather Conditions | 09.10.24

(RTTNews) – CenterPoint Energy has announced an agreement to work with Technosylva to use predictive analytics and artificial intelligence to better prepare CenterPoint assets in regions prone to extreme weather.

The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will allow CenterPoint to deploy Technosylva’s industry-leading predictive analytics and extreme weather risk mitigation solutions across CenterPoint’s network and focus on an all-weather approach to risk.

The partnership is part of CenterPoint’s $21 billion commitment over the next five years to electric and natural gas resiliency initiatives, including improved reliability and system modernization.

Technosylva’s risk monitoring platform combines high-resolution modeling, predictive analytics and real-time data to provide actionable insights into extreme weather events and threats to network assets. The software runs hundreds of millions of extreme weather simulations every day, providing real-time, short-term risk forecasts. This allows customers to anticipate potential risks, identify problem areas and take proactive measures to minimize downtime.
