Police officers have seized £350,000 worth of class A drugs on the M73 motorway in Lanarkshire

Police officers have seized class A drugs worth an estimated £350,000 on a Lanarkshire motorway.

Yesterday, October 8, at around 10.30am officers stopped a car on the M73 northbound, near Gartcosh.




The drugs were discovered during a search of the car.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.

He will appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Stoddart said: “Recoveries such as this highlight our determination to protect the public from this type of harmful crime.

“It also underlines our commitment to serious organized crime and the country’s serious organized crime strategy, and we will continue to work with partner organizations to tackle this problem and make our communities safer.
