Sumner County caregiver charged with sexual assault and neglect of vulnerable adults

GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A caregiver in Sumner County has been charged following an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).

In June, TBI special agents began investigating allegations of abuse of a vulnerable adult by their caregiver, Boris Whitworth, 69.

Two ‘Most Wanted’ men arrested on charges of sex crimes

According to the TBI, the 35-year-old victim was admitted to Sumner Regional Medical Center before being transferred to Vanderbilt for injuries sustained during the alleged attack.

Whitworth was charged on September 4 with two counts of aggravated rape, one count of neglect of a vulnerable adult and one count of sexual exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

He was booked into the Sumner County Jail on a $300,000 bond, according to the TBI.

No additional details have been released about this case.
