Melie Kerr’s masterclass gives New Zealand hope of T20 World Cup glory

Melie Kerr will set her sights on higher goals as New Zealand boosted their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with their eight-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.

Kerr excelled in all aspects of the game, taking 2/13, maintaining an excellent catch and scoring 34* to take her team to victory.

A win over Pakistan in the team’s final group match will be enough to send the White Ferns into the last four, although the margin of victory could still be decisive in guaranteeing that semi-final place.

And yet, with Kerr in such scintillating form, New Zealand will feel anything is possible heading into the business end of the tournament.
