The musical “Cats” will be in the Linzer Musiktheater in 2025

Das Musiktheater Linz presents 2025 as a summer guest performance of the musical “Cats” in the original version of London’s West End in English Sprache with German subtitles.

The original production will go from April 2025 to a separate guest series through Germany, Austria and Switzerland and from July 9 to August 3, 2025 in the Großen Saal des Musiktheaters Station, heißt es in a Presseassendung am Sonntag.

The Kult-Musical with the “Jellicle-Katzen” had its Uraufführung in the year 1981, but has traveled 73 Millions Zuschauer in over 30 Ländern. The character traits – from the duration of Macavity to the Zauberkater Misoffelees and the schneeweiße a guilty Victoria who his broader Draufgänger Rum Tum Tugger – have been concreted in my generations-long fascination already 40 years after the premiere in London’s West End.

Grundlage für das Original war die Gedichtsammlung Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats des Katzenliebhabers und Literaturnobelpreisträgers TS Eliot. Dramatist and director Trevor now has a concert for the film and Andrew Lloyd Webber as musical composer.
