Rock and Roll’s biggest night is back as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation will welcome its 2024 class of inductees. The newest class includes iconic names like Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, A Tribe Called Quest, and even Nashville teacher and globally renowned saxophonist, Jeff Coffin.

The event will take place on October 19th at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to excellent performances, the evening will also be filled with several special performances from guests such as Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and more.

“Rock and Roll is an ever-evolving amalgam of sounds that influences culture and moves generations,” Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation Chairman John Sykes said in a statement. “This diverse group of inductees each broke musical barriers and influenced countless artists who followed in their footsteps.”

Vanderbilt University professor honored as 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. ‘Dreams do indeed come true!’

The newest class of inductees includes Jeff Coffin, a member of the legendary Dave Matthews Band since 2009 and professor at the Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music.

Coffin, who is an adjunct jazz saxophone instructor, is internationally recognized and a three-time Grammy Award winner, according to his faculty profile from Vanderbilt University. Coffin began touring with the Dave Matthews Band in 2008 and officially joined the group a year later following the death of founding member LeRoi Moore.

“What an incredible moment to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with my brothers Dave Matthews Band!” Coffin said in a statement from Europe, where the band is currently on tour. “We don’t do what we do for the awards or accolades, we do it for the music, but to be recognized by our peers is truly a great honor.”

“I am pleased to represent Vanderbilt and our great Blair School of Music and remind our students that dreams do indeed come true!”

“We are so proud of Jeff and the band for this achievement, Jeff’s deep commitment to music education and incredible ambassadorship for Vanderbilt and the Blair School,” said Ryan Middagh, director of the Blair jazz program.

What time is the Rock and Roll Hall 2024 Induction Ceremony? How to watch

The 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 19 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

The ceremony will air live on Disney+ at 6:00 PM Central Time and will be available to stream after the ceremony. ABC will air a highlights special on Wednesday, January 1, which will also be available to stream on Hulu and Disney+ the following day.

The Class of 2024 includes a wide range of 16 artists, musicians and other industry professionals who have touched and influenced music over the years. They are listed below in their respective categories, as defined by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

Ahmet Ertegun Prize: This award is presented to non-performing industry professionals who have had a major impact on the creative development and growth of rock & roll and music that has influenced youth culture.

The 2024 Induction Ceremony will be a star-studded event with a diverse lineup of special guests who will present, perform and honor the newest class of inductees. Performers include Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner and more.
