Good luck to the class of 2024 for your exams

The Democratic Alliance (DA) extends its best wishes to the matric class of 2024 as they begin their National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations tomorrow. The party recognizes the hard work and dedication of both students and teachers, and recognizes the challenges they face, including student transportation issues, overcrowded classrooms, inconsistent access to school nutrition programs, and starting their high school careers at the peak from high school. Covid-19 pandemic, which caused massive disruptions to their education.

The DA encourages students to stay focused on their goals and work diligently during this final phase of their education. They also express hope for positive results when the Ministry of Basic Education announces the results next year.

Furthermore, the Public Prosecutor confirms its commitment to closely monitor the examination, assessment and verification processes. We trust that this year’s examination will proceed without scandal and that no pupil or student will be guilty of any form of cheating.

Furthermore, we would like to encourage the between 39.5% and 43.2% of young people who left school before reaching secondary school to continue their education through TVET colleges to ensure they have the necessary skills for the best possible future, especially considering that around 3.6 million young people aged 15 to 25 are not in employment, education or training (NEET).

Good quality education is the best way to ensure that young people are lifted out of poverty.
