Local weightlifters Treston Hughes and Bill Johnson achieve top results in recent competitions – Alexandria Echo Press

Local weightlifters Treston Hughes and Bill Johnson had great success at recent meets. Competing in the 132-pound weight class, Hughes placed second at the 2024 USA Powerlifting Monster Bash weightlifting competition on October 26 in Maplewood, Minnesota, while Johnson took first place at the NASA Powerlifting Wisconsin Regional Championships in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Masters 4 division on October 19.

The 2024 USA Powerlifting Monster Bash weightlifting competition was sponsored by the Power Lifting Federation of the United States of America and consisted of three events: squats, bench press and deadlift. Hughes squatted 253.5 pounds, bench pressed 143 pounds and deadlifted 315 pounds.

Competing at the Wisconsin Regional Championships, Johnson competed in the 220-pound weight class. He lifted 99 pounds on strict curl, 209 pounds on bench press and 294 pounds on deadlift.
