Chris Evans Wants to Pass This Christmas Tradition on to His Kids (Exclusive)

Chris Evans already has some ideas for family traditions.

The actor, whose new film Red releases Friday, November 15 and spoke with costar Dwayne Johnson about how he and wife Alba Baptista, who tied the knot in September 2023, are starting new family traditions together.

“This will be our second Christmas together as a married couple. As much as I love Christmas in Massachusetts with snow, Portugal has its own traditions, so we’re going to be playing pinball back and forth,” Evans says. “We just got a spot out there, so we’re excited to put up some new, fresh tracks in the snow.”

Johnson then asks Evans if there are any holiday traditions he wants to pass on to his future children Captain America alum enthusiastically answers yes.

“Yes, very much. I’m one of four, and we’re all very close. We’re all very close in age, so on Christmas Eve we all slept in the same room, on the floor, pick a Christmas movie, and try yourself in to force sleep,” says Evans.

“That’s what I hope: that my children will enjoy each other’s company as much as I and my siblings do.”

This isn’t the first time Evans has opened up about the fact that he will one day become a father. Earlier this week the star spoke with Access to Hollywood at the premiere of Red and was asked if he thinks he’ll one day be a “superhero” dad like Johnson’s character.

‘Yes, I hope so. Yes, absolutely,” Evans replied. “The title of father is exciting.”

A source first told PEOPLE in 2022 that Baptista and Evans were dating, adding that they had been “together for over a year and it’s serious.”

Since then, the couple became Instagram official in January 2023, before tying the knot in Cape Cod on September 9, 2023, with friends including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner in attendance.

An insider also previously told PEOPLE that it was “kind of like love at first sight” for Baptista and Evans, adding that they met in Europe and “got serious very quickly.”

“He can’t wait to start a family. He was just waiting for the right girl,” the source said, adding that Baptista is “beautiful, smart and just a good person.”

“She is involved in charity work and really cares about doing good. She is a very positive and happy person. It has rubbed off on him,” they shared. “It’s the best news that they’re married.”

Red is in cinemas from November 15.
