Hyderabad: Students appearing for the SSC Public Examinations in March 2025 will not have to juggle multiple answer sheets during their exam. Instead of the existing system of multiple answer sheets, the Education Department has introduced a single answer booklet of 24 pages for all Class X examinations from this academic year 2024-2025.

The 24-page booklet eliminates the need for multiple sheets, keeping the answers in one booklet and reducing the risk of losing pages if the sheets are tied incorrectly. This measure is also intended to prevent mass copying in examination halls.

So far, students are provided with four-page main answer sheets and four-page supplementary answer sheets, along with a graph sheet, to write down answers.

In the eleventh minute, students struggle to piece together their main answer sheet with additional sheets and graphs, losing or losing even the crucial pages. This problem not only increases the stress of the students but also creates challenges for the teachers during the evaluation work.

“Since the Board of Intermediate and universities including Osmania University have been following 24-page answer booklet system in the exams, it has been decided to introduce the same in Class X exams,” a senior official said.

With the introduction of the single answer booklet, students will only receive a 24-page booklet for five subjects. However, in the case of physical sciences and biological sciences exams, students are provided with a 12-page answer booklet for each subject.

When asked whether or not additional answer sheets will be provided if a student fills the 24-page answer booklet, the official said, “It is not possible for students to fill the answer booklet. To date, no decision has been made regarding the provision of additional sheets.”

In a letter, the Directorate of Government Examinations asked district education officers to inform deputy education officers, mandate education officers and head masters and principals of all secondary schools regarding the introduction of 24-page answer booklet in Class X examinations.
