Class B All-State Teams Announced, Trader Senior Athlete of Year | News, sports, jobs

Kari Gibb/MDN South Prairie-Max senior Azjiah Trader (3), seen during Region 6 action, was named the 2024 NDHSCA Class B Volleyball Senior Athlete of the Year.

The 2024 North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) Class B All-State volleyball roster was released and several local players were part of the team.

Second-place state champion South Prairie-Max and local teams Our Redeemer’s, Des Lacs-Burlington, Kenmare-Bowbells and Towner-Granville-Upham were represented on the roster.

South Prairie-Max senior Azjiah Trader made a first-team All-State selection and was named the 2024 NDHSCA Class B Volleyball Senior Athlete of the Year. Keturah Schwarzrock, the coach of the South Prairie-Max Royals, was also represented as the 2024 NDHSCA Class B Volleyball Coach of the Year.

The Royals dominated this weekend at the Class B Volleyball State Tournament, defeating Kenmare/Bowbells and Medina-Pingree/Buchanan before falling to the Langdon Area-Munich Cardinals in the championship match.

For Our Redeemer’s senior Olivia Ebel was named to the first-team All-State selection, and for Des Lacs-Burlington, senior Kaylee Werner was named to the second-team All-State selection.

Kenmare-Bowbells junior Taha Auforth was named to the first team along with teammate senior Anne Stroklund.

Towner-Granville-Upham senior Ashley Martodam was also named to the all-state second team.

Trader has quietly built a reputation as one of the best volleyball players in the state. As the 2024 season came to a close, she was named the 2024 District 12 Senior Athlete of the Year, the 2024 Region 6 Senior Athlete of the Year, the 2024 NDHSAA Class B State Tournament Senior Athlete of the Year and crowned the NDHSCA list 2024 Class B Volleyball Senior Athlete of the Year.
