FUTA graduate who bagged first class after transferring in 200 level shares how she fought back

  • A young lady has celebrated her graduation from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) with a first class
  • The food science and technology graduate said she fought her way back from a transfer in year two to successful completion
  • Admitting that she almost gave up, the lady shared what she did to get back on track in her academic career

Omotola Olasanmi, a Nigerian lady, has obtained a first class degree in Food Science and Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

The recent graduate announced this on X in a celebratory post she made.

FUTA graduate had 200 level transfer

Omotola, who started with a CGPA of 3.65, said she had a transfer in her 200 level. The recent graduate said she hit rock bottom and almost gave up.

However, she fought back and did her best, taking evening studies and extra tutoring, and her efforts paid off.

Omotola stated that she finished with a CGPA of 4.59. Her tweet read:

“Admitted to Food Science & Technology at FUTA, I started with a CGPA of 3.65 and bottomed out at 200L after a transfer. I almost gave up, but late nights and extra tutoring helped me fight back. Today I’m graduating with a 4.59 CGPA and first class honors.”

Lady graduates with first class despite setbacks

In the meantime, Legit.ng reported earlier that a 20-year-old lady had graduated with the first class despite a setback in JAMB.

The recent graduate was named the top English student and the second best graduate in her department with a CGPA of 4.62.

The lady credited her parents with instilling a strong sense of discipline in her, saying they did not welcome excuses. Her story inspired people.
