Beserlpark Theater: free culture on your doorstep

For over 11 years, the Beserlparktheater, supported by the City of Vienna, has been bringing culture to Vienna’s neighborhoods with free admission. From September 3, 2024, the Frischluft Theater will start a new production: “About Friendship” illustrateshow successful collaboration can work.

With a simple decor, colorful costumes and blankets as seats for the audience, the theater blows fresh air through the parks of Vienna’s neighborhoods and transforms the space of its own neighborhood into a new world of experience for the residents with its performances. A shared experience for young and old theatergoers.

Breaking old patterns and creating new ones

In the new production “About Friendship”, which will be on show from 3 September, friendship researchers Anna Amiga and Paula Partner ask the audience about their experiences with friendship. About the difference between friendship and cronyism, the characteristics of true friendship and times without friendship. They suddenly meet the apple strudel manufacturer Bruno Beer, who has just received a high distinction in the Vienna City Hall. He tells about his broken friendship with his old friend Fritz Zwerg. This happened because of a quarrel about the most famous apple strudel recipe in the world. The friendship researchers want to help him restore this friendship. Will he succeed? This production is about breaking old patterns and growing together. Together with the audience, the Frischluft Theater searches for ways to reconcile.
