Arsenal target stunning late move for world-class striker before transfer deadline

The Gunners are considering a move that no one saw coming.

Arsenal are considering making a last-minute purchase of a world-class player this summer.

The Gunners have had a busy transfer window this summer as they look to strengthen their squad and push Manchester City back into the Premier League.

Their most notable signings are defender Riccardo Calafiori, who joined early in the transfer window from Serie A club Bologna, and Mikel Merino, who joined on Tuesday from Real Sociedad.

And new reports suggest they could complete a deal for an elite player before the transfer window closes on Friday.

According to Mail Sport, the Gunners are considering making a bid for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

With Mikel Arteta keen to bring another wide attacker to the club to provide competition for Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, the signing could be huge for the London club.

The Frenchman made 27 appearances for the Bundesliga giants last season, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

Coman has also attracted attention from the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal reportedly the Saudi Arabian club most likely to sign the winger.

He was previously linked with a move to Liverpool, but the Merseyside club are set to sign Juventus winger Federico Chiesa instead.
