Alfred’s three touchdowns give Saraland a big win over Blount

Dillon Alfred caught three touchdown passes from quarterback KJ Lacey and Saraland’s defense, bolstered by the return of Antonio Coleman, also scored a pair of points as the Spartans, ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, defeated Blount 59-6 in the Class 6A, Region 1 season opener for both teams.

Alfred, whose touchdown receptions were three, four and 15 yards, finished the night with four receptions for 33 yards, while Lacey was 16 of 22 for 166 yards and five touchdowns. Santae McWilliams had 63 yards on 12 carries and had a touchdown run of three yards. McWilliams also had four receptions for 30 yards.
