Paralympics 2024: Maisie Summers-Newton wins second gold at Paris Games

Maisie Summers-Newton has won her second gold of the 2024 Paralympic Games after defending her title in the 100m breaststroke (SB6).

The 22-year-old Briton won in one minute and 31.30 seconds, a Paralympic record.

It is Britain’s twelfth medal so far in the swimming pool at the La Defense Arena in Paris, eight of which have been gold.

There’s more to come on Sunday, with Alice Tai, Brock Whiston, Callie-Ann Warrington, Grace Harvey and the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay all looking good.

Britain’s 17-year-old Bruce Dee finished fifth in the programme’s opening race, the men’s 100m breaststroke (SB6).

Summers-Newton already won gold on Friday in the 200 meter medley in the SM6.
