Dalit girl raped by Muslim men, village Pradhan Aslam arrested for forcing victim’s family not to report crime

A gruesome case of gang rape of a Dalit teenager has come to light in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. The police have named three persons and four unknown persons in the FIR. They have been booked under the POCSO Act after it was confirmed that the Dalit victim had been gang-raped. This gruesome case of gang rape of a Dalit teenager who was in class 11 has created tension in the area as all the accused belong to the Muslim community. Various Hindu organisations have staged a protest demanding strict action against the accused.

According to reports, the victim belongs to the Dalit community and is currently studying in class 11. Seven youths abducted her when she went out to defecate. They then took her to the jungles of Loiya village where they took turns raping her. It is said that the accused carried out the heinous act for 48 hours until the victim’s health deteriorated. They then fled the scene, leaving the victim in a critical condition.

On August 29, the minor victim went outside to defecate, from where the accused abducted her. For 2 days and nights, they held her hostage in the jungle, where they raped her for hours until her health deteriorated. They then fled, leaving the victim in a desperate state. When her family came to know, they reached the jungle on Friday night and brought their daughter home. She then narrated the cruelty committed by the accused.

Following the incident, members of the Hindu organisation staged a protest on Saturday demanding strict action against the accused and justice for the victim.

SSP Dr. Vipin Tada had ordered strict action against the accused.

On Sunday (September 1), police recorded the statement of the Dalit victim who was abducted and raped by seven suspects. She lives in a village under the jurisdiction of Falavada police station.

Sharing her ordeal, the victim stated that the accused Samir, Raja and Sameer along with four accomplices kidnapped her. They took her to Loiya forest in Daurala police station and raped her continuously for 48 hours near a tube well in the field. According to the information received, one of the accused Samir is a resident of Mahalka area while Raja and Sameer are residents of Nangla Hareru.

On Saturday (August 31), a case was registered at Mawana police station based on the complaint of the victim’s family. The police have arrested Salim’s son Samir, Salim’s son Raja, another accused named Sameer and four unidentified persons. They have been charged under relevant sections of kidnapping, gang rape and POCSO Act.

Rural SP Rakesh Mishra said they have recorded the victim’s statements under Section 161 after completing the medical examination of the victim. He added that her statements under Section 164 will be recorded in the court on Monday.

Police arrested the main suspect Samir late Sunday night. Three police teams are conducting raids to arrest the fugitive suspect.

SHO Falavada Rajesh Kamboj said that the police have arrested the main accused of gang rape, Samir. He added that raids are being conducted to nab the other accused in the case, who will be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, several BJP leaders visited the victim’s house to support the bereaved family.

Police also book fellow villager Pradhan Aslam for helping suspect

Based on the complaint of the victim’s family, the Falawada police also registered a case against Aslam, the Village Pradhan. In their complaint, the victim’s family stated that Pradhan Aslam told them on August 31 that he had done everything to get their abducted daughter back, so there was no need to file a complaint in this case. According to them, Pradhan Aslam is working with the accused and trying to save them. The complaint stated that he had threatened them with death at the police station.
