Discovery of machete in Nottingham leads to arrest of 13-year-old boy

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested following reports of a robbery and the discovery of a machete in Nottingham.

Police said on Wednesday they received a report of a group of youths attempting to steal an e-scooter by threatening the owner with a knife in Robin Hood Chase in St Ann’s.

After arresting a suspect, officers searched the area and found the large knife in a bush.

The 13-year-old boy was subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of a knife in public.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and are calling on anyone with information to contact them.
