PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — A man was arrested in Plainfield Tuesday after repeatedly threatening to rob a bank.

Roy “Butch” Goodwin, a 54-year-old Moosup resident, allegedly made several threatening statements to a bank teller at the Core Plus Credit Union in Plainfield. Goodwin allegedly made comments about the bank’s staffing levels and how he could rob it if he wanted to. He said he didn’t have a gun, but that he would go home and get one.

He was charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree disturbing the public order.
