Unstable Core CPUs: Intel finds final Absturz-Ursache in anfälliger Schaltung

It’s been a long time since Intel had the problem with instabilizing K-CPUs at the moment the problem occurs: the Absturze were not expected by a small circuit in the CPU cores, the (too) high voltages and temperatures war. There is another Microcode BIOS update available.

Because the voltages and temperatures are higher, the K-CPUs are “as fast as possible” and with the unstable time they are ready to ensure that Intel gets new mittels and the motherboard repairer and microcode updates addresses – both should prevent high voltages and temperatures. It had never been a war: Warum CPUs became unstable once, and also the CPU could do damage.

In an erneuten Community-Posting erklärt Intel seinen Funde:

Intel has localized the Vmin Shift Instability issue to a clock tree circuit within the IA core, which is particularly vulnerable to reliability aging under elevated voltages and temperatures. Intel has observed that these conditions can lead to clock duty cycle shifting and has observed system instability.

Intel

Insgesamt gibt is nun four Szenarien, die zum Vmin shift and the possible instability issues:

  1. The motherboard’s power supply settings exceed Intel’s guidelines.
    A. Softening: Intel® default settings recommendations for 13th and 14th Generation Intel® Core™ desktop processors.
  2. eTVB Microcode algorithm that enabled Intel® Core™ 13th and 14th Gen i9 desktop processors to operate at higher performance levels even at high temperatures.
    A. Softening: Microcode 0x125 (June 2024) fixes an issue with the eTVB algorithm.
  3. Microcode SVID algorithm calls for high voltages with a frequency and duration that can cause Vmin shift.
    A. Softening: microcode 0x129 (August 2024) targets the high voltages required by the processor.
  4. Microcode and BIOS code requiring higher core voltages can cause Vmin shifts, especially during periods of inactivity and/or light activity.
    A. Softening: Intel® releases microcode 0x12B, which includes microcode updates 0x125 and 0x129 and addresses increased processor voltage requests during idle and/or light activity periods.

The letter from the four punks is now one of the last improvements – and for a new BIOS update there is no version available yet. If the microcode 0x12B is downloaded first, the solutions to the problems of others are solved, while the problem with the high voltage supply in the tutorial and in the last addresses is solved.

Finals (?) Microcode update, gleiche Leistung

If the new microcode is displayed and the motherboard is repaired (or if it works), the cares are now placed in the BIOS updates. Midtlerweile had the motherboard repairer do so much, however, that there will only be a few weeks left until the first (Beta) versions were available, the final ones will be removed at a later time. Well Intel does not want to do this update anymore before the performance is scraped. For the K-CPUs the main advantage is that you can use more performance and extreme power delivery profiles as standard

Warranty extension is possible

Intel warranty provides the best CPUs that last for years, but there are no Boxed or Tray processors and CPUs from OEM systems one. Intel has given the warranty that the CPUs are equipped with:

  • The warranty extension is gold-plated for fresh products as well as for new purchased Prozessoren from the Dieser Liste
  • The warranty does not cover boxed processors for tray processors and processors sold in OEM and system integrator systems. Affected Kund:innen können von der Garantie wie folten Gebrauch machen:
  • Käufer:innen from Boxed-Prozessoren turn to Intel customer support
  • Customers of Tray Processors turn to the dealer to purchase the Tray Processor.
  • Buyers of OEM and system integrator systems who want to be a repairer of the systems
  • If you are concerned about your issue, you can submit an RMA request so that Intel customer service can come to you.

An end with cracks

If the problem occurs in a process core of its own and with certainty, it may happen that the enterprise comes within the boundary of the boundary, which may cause the Intel communication strategy to cause the biggest disaster in that big disaster. Whatever the case with the end of the conversation, the first part of the month and the year in which the problem occurs is almost the same non-existent what would happen.

Affected CPUs are defective

This other guy: Ready affected CPUs are irreversibly physically degraded and can no longer be repaired. All patches help now, but there are no problems.

Let’s take a look at the new information in the Zukunft and understand the results of the problems Male, these new processes, which now appear, which problems are not aufweisen were. This appears in the first line of Intel Lunar Lake and Intel Arrow Lake.
