Fuel cheaper – Inflation in September at 1.8 percent

The price drop is mainly due to cheaper fuel. Price increases for services, on the other hand, are the main driver of inflation. Finance Minister Magnus Brunner (ÖVP) pointed out that Austria is in line with the EU target at 1.8 percent. This is the case for the first time since April 2021, when inflation was 1.2 percent.
