Harris could become the first US president to have worked at McDonald’s

Vice President Kamala Harris would make history as the first female president of the United States if she defeats Republican candidate Donald Trump in the November election.

That’s not the only scoop she has, according to the Independent, who reported Friday that she could be the first president to have previously worked at McDonald’s.

During her college years, Harris earned extra money frying fries and making ice cream at the popular fast food chain, according to a new biographical ad released Friday by Kamala Harris’ campaign that emphasized her “middle class” upbringing.

The Democratic presidential candidate “knows what it’s like to be middle class,” Harris’ campaign team said in the ad.

“Being president is about who you fight for. Vice President Harris is the daughter of a working mother and worked at McDonald’s to pay for her college education. She knows what middle-class families go through. Now she’s running for president to make it easier for families to not only get by, but get ahead,” said Lauren Hitt, a spokesperson for Harris’ campaign, in a statement.

“As president, Harris’ top priority will be to tackle corporate greed to cut costs. Donald Trump, on the other hand, wants to give more tips to his ultra-rich friends at the expense of working Americans. That’s the contrast voters will see between now and Election Day.”

Harris entered the 2024 race last month after President Joe Biden resigned following a poor performance at the June debate, raising concerns about the 81-year-old’s mental acuity and his ability to serve another term.

She has a Jamaican father and an Indian mother and would become the first female president of the US and the first Asian American president if she defeats Trump in the 2024 election.

Harris’ campaign is spending $50 million on advertising ahead of the Democratic National Convention, which kicks off Aug. 19.

According to TMZKamala Harris’ campaign will limit celebrity attendance at the upcoming convention, “out of fear that the DNC will feel too Hollywood-esque.”

“They don’t want to overdo the Hollywood aspect to the point where it turns off ordinary people,” the publication reported, citing anonymous sources.
