JNV Admissions 2025 Class 6 Admission Process Ends on September 16; Apply at navodaya.gov.in

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) has started the admission process for class 6 students for the academic year 2025-26. Parents and guardians should be aware that the application process is still ongoing, with the deadline to submit it on the official website navodaya.gov.in being September 16. Also, the application form for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for admission to class 6 is available at cbseitms.nic.in.

To secure a place in the prestigious Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, students must be currently enrolled in class 5 for the academic year 2023-24. It is important to note that students can only apply for admission to the Navodaya Vidyalaya in their district. To be eligible, it is also necessary to provide a residence certificate while submitting the application form.

JNV Admissions 2025: Admission Criteria

To be eligible for admission to class 6 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, students must have completed full-time studies in classes 3, 4 and 5 from a government school, a government aided school or a recognized school and have passed all classes.

Only one attempt is allowed for the JNVST entrance examination.

Rural quota: 75 percent of the seats are reserved for students from rural areas of the district.

City quota: The remaining 25 percent of seats are available for students from both urban and rural areas, as per the district reservation criteria. This includes students who have completed 3rd, 4th and 5th standard in schools in urban areas.

Step 1: Log on to the official website of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at navodaya.gov.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link titled: “Click here to register for class VI 2025.”

Step 3: Register now with the required qualifications and fill in the application form.

Step 4: Scan and upload the required documents in the mentioned format and size.

Step 5: Pay the required application fee to complete the application process.

Step 6: Once you are done, click the Submit button and save a copy for future use.

JNV admissions 2025: selection process

Admission to class 6 of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) is based solely on merit, determined by the national Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).

The JNVST entrance examination, designed and conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), assesses students on mathematics, mental skills and their regional language. The selection process is aimed at identifying and nurturing talent, particularly from rural areas.
