Two arrests for multiple alleged crimes

During a routine traffic check by the RGP on Thursday, a series of alleged violations involving drugs, imitation firearms and ammunition were detected.

RGP officers patrolling Queensway stopped a man who had been issued with a warrant and subsequently arrested him on suspicion of possession of a class B drug.

He was taken to New Mole House and reportedly tested positive for cocaine and cannabis. He was further arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

“Later that evening, after a search of the man’s home, officers seized a number of items, including two imitation firearms, ammunition, various types of drugs and a large sword,” the RGP said in a statement.

“As a result, he was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled class C drug, possession with intent to supply a controlled class C drug, two counts of possession of a prohibited import, possession of a controlled class B drug, possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug, possession of ammunition without a certificate and two counts of possession of firearms without a certificate.”

“At New Mole House police station the man vandalised police property and was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct in a police station and vandalising or damaging property.”

“In connection with the same incident, a 38-year-old local woman was arrested on five outstanding warrants and charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited import, possession of a controlled class B drug, possession of a controlled class C drug, possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug, possession with intent to supply a controlled class C drug and three counts of possession of ammunition without a certificate.”

Following the incident, a young child was also placed in custody and both the man and woman were arrested on suspicion of juvenile abuse.

An investigation is still ongoing, according to the RGP.
