Thomas Jorda Prize 2024 – Elisabeth Steinkellner: “That is a wonderful prize!”

Thomas Jorda Prize 2024 – Elisabeth Steinkellner: “That is a wonderful prize!”

First time in Eis-Meer and the Great Barrier Reef. Dann is a man in the Amazon. And dazwischen? Segelte man (oder besser: frau) in Sprach-Meer. Denn: When Europe’s largest photo festival took place at the Freitag wieder zu seiner “Langen Nacht der Fotografie”, things went a bit well. Um das “Weltnaturerbe” (so the title and motto of the mittlerweile during La Gacilly Photo Festivals in Baden, that is June and nor until October läuft. Um die Kraft der Fotografie (which is “a very dazzling waffe, um due to the Klimawandel zu camps “, so Fotofestivalleiter – und Fotograf – Lois Lammerhuber). Aber auch um die Poesie der Worte.

You who went to the Thomas-Jorda-Preis, who are NÖ Nachrichten in Gedenken and ihren fell zu früh verstorbenen Kulturchef (and, therefore, NÖN-Chief Editor Walter Fahrnbergerdessen „Edelfeder“, die in Niederösterreichs Kulturlandschaft nor ever „abgeht“) 2021 ins Leben gerufen haben. A heuer schon zum vierten Mal vergeben haben – nach Fantasy-Autorin Katharina V. Haderer, Bachmann-(Publikums-)Preisträgerin Raphaela Edelbauer and Singer- and Song-Writer Irmie Vesselsky and Kinder- en Jugendbuchautorin Elisabeth Steinkellner.

If you have had a paper version in the last few months, in your first Kinderbuch 2010, in the first Lyrikband 2012 and in the Jugendroman 2015, you will be welcomed back with your Österreich Kinder- und Jugendbuchpreis, with the Hans-im-Glück-Preis ofder with the “outstanding artist prize” awarded is a “wonderful surrender” and a “wunderschöner prize”. See, so the gebürtige Neunkirchnerin, the one with author, illustrator and Christine-Nöstlinger-Preisträger Michael Roher and my family in Baden lives happily around the Rahmen (“the Photo Festival is one of the most exciting cultural events in Baden”). Und über die Bühne (“I was happy with other people and were happy to be here”).

The Bühne – and the Leinwand – before the war “Long Night”, after the Kurpark and the Casino, the first Baden Cinema Paradiso. Dort stieß man nicht nur auf die Fotografie an, dort feierte man auch gleich noch zwei other Preise (“wir since heute here, um zu feiern”, so Lois Lammerhuber): the Hans Hass Award (den Tochter Meta Raunig-Hass to the Photographers’ Ehepaar Jennifer Hayes and David Doubilet verlieh) and the Life Time Achievement Award from Badens Fotofestival (“den wollen wir jedes Jahr vergeben”), der heuer an Großbritanniens Star-Fotograf Martin Parr went before the man with the used Badener (Dokumentar-)Filmer Richard Ladkani a journey through the Amazon – to the first photographs of films and Brazilian films that are clearer than the Indigenous-Prinzessin Juma Xipaia.

All Richard Ladkani and Martin Parr, Jennifer Hayes and David Doubilet will be in Badens Gassen and Parks on October 13, a Badens Fassaden and a Badens Bäumen to see with their final photography. And no Thomas-Jorda-Preisträgerinnen? I’m not in teaching anymore. During the Festival, we will be present at Folgejahr as Artist in Residence. And yet I will never be able to listen to it again, so my music and Thomas-Jorda-Preisträgerin 2023, Irmie Vesselsky: “I am happy, it is not my music!”
