SEC awards $24 million to two whistleblowers

Washington, DC–(Newsfile Corp. – August 26, 2024) – The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it has awarded more than $24 million to two whistleblowers whose information and assistance led to an enforcement action with the SEC and an action brought by another agency.

The first whistleblower will receive a $4 million reward, while the second whistleblower will receive a $20 million reward. While the first whistleblower was the first to report, which led to the opening of the investigation, the second whistleblower received the higher reward because their information and substantial cooperation proved crucial to the success of the actions.
