On September 1, American cultural manager Beth Stryker passed away at the helm of the MAK Center for Art and Architecture in Los Angeles. Stryker began his career in 1997 as founder and director of Utensil Art + Design Studio in New York and is founder of CLUSTER (Cairo Lab for Urban Studies, Training and Environmental Research), a platform for urban research, architecture, art and design with Sitz in Cairo from 2011 to 2020. See the exhibition and program of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Center for Architecture New York. From 2018 to 2023, the Geschäftsführerin von ArteEast was a joint organization for funding contemporary art from the region of Southwest Asia and North Africa in the US.

In 1994, the MAK Center for Art and Architecture was occupied by the Houses of the Austrian-American architects Rudolph M. Schindler. Next to the Schindler House (1922) in West Hollywood, there are exhibitions and installations in the Fitzpatrick-Leland House (1936) and the Mackey Apartments (1939). As director of Stryker at Jia Yi Gu, he is assistant professor of architecture at Harvey Mudd College in Wechselt.
